Really? It’s 20-something degress? In the UK? Yup. Great isn’t it? If anything it’s too hot but it’s just so much of pleasure to see this great country bathed in glorious sunshine. I’m surprised the new government aren’t claiming it’s their doing but still

This shoot is from last weekend and even then the weather was definitely improving. London is such an iconic city it’s a shame we don’t photograph up there more than we do. Should make a note to self to change that. Trafalgar Square, St. James Park, The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Borough Market, – the list is utterly breathtaken and, given we have quite a lot of customers from our famous capital, it really is an opportunity to capture some great images!

We started with Richard and Cassidy at Borough market and then, like three tourists with a somewhat oversize camera, we sauntered along the Southbank chatting and capturing images. I’ve wanted to do this again for so long! Brilliant! The hours just slid past and it was an absolute pleasure: perfect location, perfect weather, perfect people. Cannot tell you how excited I am about their wedding later in the year!

Let us know what you think!

Take care
Cheers

Anyone who follows our blog regularly will know there are two things I love: photographing in London and strong back-lighting. Oh, that and having great people to photograph of course.

This shoot had all three. In abundance. St. James Park is possibly one of London’s slightly less well known parks, though it’s actually right next to Trafalgar Square which makes it really easy for us to get to. We photographed Oliver Peyton there last year, at his restaurant “Inn The Park” and I thought it would be good to go back for a lifestyle session.

I couldn’t have asked for a better time of it – it was freezing cold but I think this just adds to the romance of the images. Besides, it was shot in early January so what did I expect? I’d rather cold’n'clear than cold’n'grey.

London is such a characteristic background, even when it’s deliberately out of focus as it is in most of these images, that it gives a tremendously editorial quality to the pictures. You can kind of imagine you were looking at them in a glossy magazine or coffee-table book. And I love that. That fusion of portraiture and fashion/lifestyle imagery. Still very much a family photograph but done in a way that’s current and exciting.

Hopefully you agree!

Blimey. This has been (and continues to be) one heck of a summer! I know, I know, the weather hasn’t exactly left us all reeling with heatstroke, but it has (so far at least) been warm and wet. Considering the cold and wet summer we endured last year, I’ll live with that. However, from a photography perspective, we continue to have an absolutely brilliant season.

For us, it’s not just about having lots of clients (though, of course, it helps) – it’s just as much about the type of clients we have and the opportunities they present for us to create beautiful images. And on both of those fronts life couldn’t be better. We have a wonderfully diverse client base that every single day brings new and exciting challenges – and on top of that, we get to meet the nicest people possible!

Anyway, I have to admit, I’m trying to catch up on some of the blogging that has been so woefully absent for the past month or two: please forgive me on that front as I am sure you will understand I would always choose to be creating beautiful images rather than writing my blog (though actually I love writing this thing – it’s just that I love photography more!)

So going back to one of our favourite clients – The Crazy Bear. We were lucky enough to be asked to photograph their new Members Only Club in Covent Garden, London. Once again the guys have created the most magical venue that is both a pleasure to be in and a pleasure to photograph. I can highly recommend a trip over there to anyone who loves their Sushi (as I do) as their chef is utterly fantastic!

Let us know what you think!

Take care
Cheers

Oh wow, it feels like summer.

The daffodils are out (though I do have to admit to a secret and irrational dislike of them – something to do with them taking over your lawn every spring I suspect – and they’re not even particularly pretty. I am worryingly beginning to sound like an old git…), birds are singing, kids are guzzling ice cream like it’s gone out of fashion and the great British public has taken off a little too much clothing and is quietly going pink. Ah, the sound of sizzling and the smell of coconut oil.

And all of this in the middle of London.

I love shooting up in town; there is just something about it. The area around us here in rural Buckinghamshire is beautiful and tranquil and everything I’d ever want to live in but I still get a real buzz from being back in London, camera in hand.

This shoot was the pre-wedding session for Marc & Rebecca who we’re going to be working with in a few weeks’ time. And it was glorious. The weather was simply too good to be stuck in anywhere stuffy so we headed over to Regent’s Park. Bit weird, it has to be said, as it happened to be the G20 conference that week and it seemed like the park was the site of a Policeman’s Picnic. There were stab vests and blue lights everywhere (something to do with the American Ambassador’s place backing onto it) and it did feel a little weird being watched given I was clearly holding the terrorist’s weapon of choice – a camera. Sigh.

Still, this was an absolutely beautiful shoot! Marc and Rebecca were (are) great company and clearly very much in love. Ahhh. A great set of photos and the exciting prospect of shooting them again at their wedding back in London! Can’t wait.

Let us know what you think.

Cheers
P.
