You can always tell when we’ve had a really busy week of shooting as, paradoxically, the blog goes quiet. I try to put up a post every couple of days or so but it feels like this week has somewhat run away with me.
Our photography business continues to develop and expand at a rate of knots and the sessions never cease to surprise and challenge us!
Kathryn and her team at Sassy’s in Wycombe have been friends of ours ever since we shot her wedding and we’ve been working with them ever since. I really love the way this business is run and the attention to detail that Kathryn brings to it – and it’s always a pleasure to be involved in capturing images for them. Quite a few of our clients go to Sassy’s for hair and makeup and the feedback from them is unbelievable!
This particular session was to create some images for the next round of publicity and for some big posters for the salon. It’s an absolute joy to shoot – although it’s technically quite a challenge to bring a whole studio rig into the salon itself, it’s brilliant in that we have hair and makeup right on tap throughout the session. The models had all been selected by Kathryn and her team in advance with each getting full hair and makeup treatment.
When Kelly, our assistant walked in, she was also ‘volunteered’ (Kathryn does have a knack for getting people on board) due to her stunning long blond hair and great figure. Not quite what we had intended but still (I have to admit she does look stunning though!)
The commission was for indoor shots only but the light outside the salon door is unbelievable and so we couldn’t resist capturing a few additional images of each of the models in natural daylight. I think I love these as much as the more technical images we shot inside. There’s something slightly more edgy, more story-telling about them that I just find appealing and it gives some different options for the brand.
Awesome hair and makeup from the team, stunning models and the result? Utterly gorgeous images!. What do you think?
Cheers
P.
