Water, water everywhere…

Sometimes you just need to ride out your luck!

We had this session with Chris, Simon, Zed, Daisy, Felicity (Flick – this nicknames is definitely cooler than most!) and Sue booked in for a couple of weeks and, at the time we made the booking, we were enjoying what looked like the perfect summer to come. Then last week happened. All I can say is that Monday was wet.

Except for the couple of hours in which we grabbed these shots.

We did have the studio set up and ready but, as you’ll have figured from reading the blog, I will always work outside in natural light if I can. Or, more importantly, if our clients are happy. I am acutely aware that I don’t think anything of working in the pouring rain – however, it’s not the nicest way to get cool images of people. So we grabbed the first hour or so in the studio while the weather seemed intent on flooding the village and then, completely unexpectedly, the sun suddenly emerged! I can’t say it was exactly warm (and there was standing water everywhere) but after the deluge we had been having, it seemed positively tropical!

I think we have a really lovely set of images that I’m excited about showing everyone. Some really nice gentle black and whites from the studio and a load of really cool “lifestyle” type images that are probably what we’re best known for (has anyone actually ever sat down and worked out what that description means? Who’s lifestyle does it refer to? Beats me – but still, they are gorgeous images to own and have has a framed image or one of our albums!

Also, we’ve just put a new image and slideshow viewer onto the blog. It’s a bit different to having loads of images scattered around – I had a sudden urge to tidy things up a little. It’s a flash component so it should pretty much work for everyone. If you have any troubles just let us know. We’d also love to hear any feedback about it or the album viewer that we loaded earlier last week.

Let us know :)

Thanks! P.
