Kathryn and John’s Wedding…

071228kajw_1079.JPG…or, as the events notice-board said: “Jon Hathaway’s Golf Day”…

As well as being the last of 2007’s season, Kathryn and John’s Wedding was, perhaps, the most fun! It was almost as much a highlight of the festive season as it was their wedding day, with everyone arriving in suitably high spirits and a not inconsiderable determination to celebrate in real style!

Unusually for us, we didn’t start the day with photography of the bride getting prepared, instead – and with no small degree of trepidation I might add, as I have never so much as stood foot on a championship course – I went along to capture images of the lads playing a round of golf.

071228kajw_0346.JPGAt this point, I do have to say a huge thank you to the guys for putting up with me generally being in the way and possibly putting them off their stroke – however, I did get some great images! Also, I’d like to express much relief at not being taken out by a stray ball – I only had one truly close encounter with the small white projectile and that, ironically, was while standing well out in the rough, a suitably safe distance from the green. Hmmmm.

Anyway, the Oxfordshire is one of the venues in this area both for its magnificent fairways and as a fantastic location for weddings and events – and this wedding lived up to it in every single way. It should be said that it’s not just the location that really makes a wedding so great (though clearly it helps) but it’s more about the family and guests and the er… entertainment. And in this case, all three were on form!

I can’t say enough about Kathryn and John and their family who have been absolutely fantastic clients and just wanted the photography to capture the energy of the day. Along with their family and guests, everyone made us feel incredibly welcome making it an absolute pleasure to capture the day. This has been a really nice highpoint to bring our 2007 wedding season to a close – particularly with the rousing climax provided courtesy of Elvis – you have to see this guy – jaw-dropping!

These are just a handful of images from the day – enjoy!

Anushka & Andy’s Wedding

Lain’s Barn InteriorWell, from the lack of posts we’ve made recently, you may have surmised – correctly – that we’ve been just a tad busy. We’re currently in the midst of our festive seasonal rush and have been working flat out producing orders and closing as much out for the year as we can.

However, last night, we had the pleasure of revealing the images from one of the last weddings of this year’s season. Anushka and Andy’s wedding was just beautiful though the weather was (and this does appear to have been a running theme this year) just a little inclement.

071027aaaw_0932.JPGIt was held at Lain’s Barn near Wantage which is stunningly beautiful, though – at least from a photographic point of you – somewhat sparse where windows and natural lighting is concerned. However, the lack of daylight provided a welcome opportunity to create some really beautiful black & white images lit by candles and lamps – just stunning!

This wedding was made particularly special by Anushka and Andy and their family and guests who made both myself and Sarah feel unbelievably welcome. Thank you!

I have to admit, I don’t recall seeing so many guests with cameras as were present at this wedding, so I do apologise if I’m a consistent fixture in everyone’s photos! Both myself and Sarah work really hard at not being in the way – particularly of videographers and guests with cameras – but with unfortunate regularity, on turning around after grabbing a shot, I found myself in line of a camera, camera-phone or vid-cam of one sort or another. So to anyone reading this who has a lovely picture of the bride and groom inexplicably punctuated with images of me, I’m very sorry!
